Why does it make me get iTunes 11.1? It isn't out yet.

Well to be accurate, my brother is the iOS developer and I am sorta in it just to test my own apps on my own devices (have UDIDs and developer profiles and everything) to save myself money until I have to pay for it later.
Anyway to get iTunes 11.1 without having to download it off of the Developer site or am I outta luck until General Release?

isnt iTunes 11.1 suppose to be out before iOS 7 is officially released next week then?
I have a MacBook Pro retina. Can I get iTunes 11.1 for free on there without having to get on the Dev center?
Yes you do. It requires you to do it before it will update to GM.
You don't need it to do the update. You will need it afterward to connect the phone with iOS 7 GM to iTunes as it won't recognize it unless you have 11.1.
You can but not OTA. You will need to download the iOS 7 GM .IPSW and shift-update using iTunes.
I'm stuck... it won't let me get passed Connected to iTunes. I can't do anything!

Okay nevermind. I have it, but it won't let me use my back up from iTunes..
So what do I do now? When iTunes 11.1 becomes officially available can I just install that and then use my iTunes back up?

Yeah, so I wait until iTunes 11.1 becomes officially available which should be before Sept. 18th correct?
