Those that messed up with restore to the GM here is the solution (I made the same mistake)

Plug your phone into the computer

Hold the power button for 3 seconds, then press and hold the home button (still holding the power button) for 10 seconds. Release the power button but continue holding the home button until iTunes says your iphone is in recovery or dfu mode.

Once there you should be able to downgrade back to beta 6.

After you downgrade if you still want to update to GM instead of clicking option "restore" click option "update" and do the usual.

Also after you downgrade make sure you restore your backup before you update to GM because once you update you can't connect your phone back to iTunes unless you downgrade again

same. so im stuck without music, contacts, or apps. lol

Not really. You can restore to iOS6. restore your backup, THEN "update" to iOS7 (not restore). So shift+update not shift+restore

Wow didn't even think of that. Looks like I'm screwed until 11.1 comes out for windows... :(

Nope you can. DFU mode then restore iOS6 with iTunes 11. Then you can UPDATE to 7 not restore and should be fine.

I also don't back up to iCloud because I have over 34gb's of photos/videos.

It doesn't help you now, but I had the same issue so I turned off backup of photos to iCloud. I let PhotoStream handle the "backup" short term until I plug in my phone and copy the photos off of it using Windows Explorer.

iCloud works really well as a backup / restore mechanism. Just not for people like us that take a lot of photos until you turn that off.

It seems that beta itunes messed up my system.
In repair permissions i get a huge list of similar to the following info:

Permissions differ on “Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/ProgressDialog.nib”; should be drwxr-xr-x ; they are -rwxr-xr-x .

I run ML and I have already tried to reinstall itunes, repair permissions multiple times, restart multiple times. I cannot fix the problem so far and I am a bit worried.
Any help please?

Wait I can update to 7 GM now or do you mean update later?

It is to Apple Developer's who may I remind you are the only people right now who are supposed to have IOS 7 GM Seed right now. The instructions on the Apple Developer Portal say to use ITunes 11.1 Beta 2. It's on the Dev Site.

Ouch.. restoring my iPhone 5 to 6.1.4 made me lose my backup. My only other backup is from April. :s

Should I just wait for the public release?

there is one option for you: It worked for me as Even though I am an Apple Developer, I don't have a Mac, and ITunes 11.1 Beta 2 is only available on a Mac:

first Downgrade to IOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 using DFU Mode.

Then Install IOS 7 GM Seed as an UPGRADE NOT as a RESTORE.

How do I restore from a iOS 7 GM back up though and do this?

I'm on 6.1.4 now.

Sorry, my instructions were about how to get from IOS 7 Beta 6 to IOS 7 GM Seed.

I see that you are having a different problem.

Can I just restore to iOS 7 beta 6 and then restore my backup and then do the SHIFT+UPDATE method to iOS 7 GM?

You said to downgrade to 6.1.4 :p

NO, if you want to install IOS 7 GM Seed as an UPGRADE you must first Downgrade to 6.1.4 for IPhone 5, 6.1.3 for all other Devices.

So no matter what I can't restore to a backup?

What do you suggest then? Stay on 6.1.4 and wait for the official release?

You may have to wait until IOS 7 and ITunes 11.1 get a Released to the General Public. I would be Risking Losing my Apple Developer Program Membership if I actually provided you the download of ITunes 11.1 Beta 2 and it's also against the Rules here as well.

I think I might just start completely over on my MacBook Pro (I have itunes 11.1 on there)

Something that I need to know.. What happens to my developer profile? I think I may have lost my backup from downgrading to iOS 6.1.4.
