Bummer. Terry Spiezer, the owner of the place I've got a membership to, was one of the parties to the Michigan lawsuit trying to get that ban lifted. I'd heard they were successful, but I guess that hasn't lifted the actual ban yet.

Read the article I linked above. The Supreme Court decision has no bearing on Maryland because they ban everybody from direct shipping, not just out-of-state wineries.

Man that sucks. Must be the product of the big distributors helping to write the law. Sounds like pressure is building to change that though.

After hearing so much praise for them, I really wanted to fly JetBlue on my flght home last weekend, but they don't fly to STL :(

I love JetBlue. With their hub in NY, they fly everywhere (direct) I need to go on business and have nice places to go for pleasure. Their personnel provide top notch service, their planes are new (don't ask me how I felt on a recent Delta flight to Atlanta on a plane that seemed to be 20 years old), seats comfortable and Direct TV is a bonus (although I generally just listen to my iPod).

Although not always the cheapest, I don't care. They are worth a few bucks more.

Since I fly to Denver a lot, I now know the flight attendants and they treat me like royalty.

My old roommate raved about them once when she flew on them from SLC to NYC. I've tried to fly them a few times, but each time they either don't fly to where I need to go or they were significantly more. Maybe one of these days I'll bite the bullet and just pay the higher fare just to see what all the hub bub is about.

And then I remembered how I used to use JetBlue to fly up to Rochester, New York, when I was attending RIT, and remembered how awesome it was - both in price and speed. And so I went to check out their site to check out the prices.

Louisiana, $99, direct.
California, $199, direct. Only 3 hours of flight time to boot!

I mean, holy ****. That's just ****ing sweet.
Just be aware, that those fares are WITHOUT taxes. JetBlue will tack on another $30-40 on taxes, each way.

Even if it ends up costing the same as AA (I assume AA because he said connection in Dallas) He'll end up with better service and nonstop flights.

No, not really. But they did only donate about a grand or so, that won't get them much...maybe a couple pre-emptive MISSION ACCOMPLISHED banners at their local sign store, but that's about it.
Also they are in the midsts of a growing corruption scandal along with the government. The company basically supports all of the economy over there so as much as I dislike them I hope they can reform and prosper.

Depends on the route - I find it to be about 50/50.

From here to Jacksonville (step mum), United or Southwest usually win, but I will pay more on SW not to drive to fracking Dulles.

I refuse to fly SW to the West Coast - at any price. If I am going to be in a metal can for 5.5 hours, I want to pick my seat, watch a movie and get a few snacks along the way - and preferably not in an A320 (JB) or a 737 (SW).

Good points. One has to look at all the options. My sister and I are taking a cruise from FTL; yet she is wanting us to take a flight to MIA. To me final cost and connivence is everything.

Where bouts in Buffalo do your parents live, WildCowboy?

Heh heh...just getting back into MR after a week and half off visiting the parents. Way too much to catch up on. I thought I'd be able to keep up while I was gone, but they're on dial-up...I'd forgotten how painful that was. I think they're finally cracking and will be getting DSL by the time I head back again.

I grew up in Amherst, right near Niagara Falls Blvd and the Youngmann.
