Recently, I upgraded to iOS 12 beta in hope of it rectifying some issues and possibly helping my X in the performance area. I love the beta, don’t regret upgrading at all and, yes before someone says it , I do know the consequences of running a beta. I’ve ran every major iOS beta. But this issue has been here before and during the beta.

Onto the issue, it just seems that I find myself constantly staring at a loading screen in areas where my phone reports 1-2 bars of LTE coverage. While I get this isn’t very high, 1 bar of LTE most likely should exceed a megabyte right? I have AT&T on iPhone X(GSM only modem).

I also find myself needing to use a phone nearby since I’m getting absolutely no data at 1-2 bars practically.

This is a really frustrating issue but I feel a phone call to AT&T won’t fix the issue. I’ve been thinking about wiping my phone since it hasn’t been from Nov. 3rd(launch day).

Thanks if anyone can help!

Data speeds and how many bars has nothing to do with each other

Matters by location and other factors.

The Intel modem in the GSM version of iPhone X isn't great with low and marginal signal strengths.

You can try replacing your phone with an A1865 (Qualcomm) which will improve connectivity.

The phones coming out this year will have Gigabit LTE and 4x4 MIMO which will further improve connectivity in low signal situations.

Try turning airplane mode on and off. That seems to help me. I’ve read that the iPhone will search for the best signal when the antenna is turned back on. I used to reboot my iphone for the same result.
