Why does my friend see my email address when I iMessage him?

...but when he sends me a text back I see his name? How do I make it so he sees my name when I iMessage him? Sorry if this is already discussed. I couldn't find it anywhere.

Also, when I go to my iPhone and try to send an iMessage to a fellow ios5 user, it doesn't recognize it.

I'm just guessing a solution here. Maybe he needs to add your email under your name in his contacts?
