iPod touch Why does my iPod restart when I have it shut off and put it back in its box in the plastic "holder" it came in?

I have to put it in the holder then put it in the case, then shut it down. What am I doing wrong?

If the box/holder provides power then the iPod will always turn on to start to charge when plugged in.

It's just the original iPod touch box.

The plastic mold in the box is applying pressure on the power button.

Cut a hole around that part of the plastic tray if you want it to stop.

Then again, I could also just take the holder out entirely. Thank you for your reply.
