Whenever I get to 30-40% battery life my MB just shuts off. This is the 3rd time I've been working in class and it just shuts off without notification, and the battery status says about an hour left.
I'm on a MacBook Pro, but am seeing the same. Consistantly around the 30% mark it shuts down. (I've already replaced one battery, and wasn't sure if I need to do so again or if it's just a matter of re-calibrating).
I just had my battery replaced last week. My MacBook was behaving the same way, it would shut off after just 15-20 min. with no warning (battery would indicate anywhere from 40-50%). I headed up to the local apple store, the genius took a look at it and replaced the battery on the spot. My Macbook was out of warranty (purchased in May 2006) as well. Good Luck!
