For some reason when I type certain keys, random letters/symbols will appear. It is sometimes fixed after powering down, yet will come back later.

The keys affected are "7" "u" and "j" (I copied and pasted them). Typing parentheses also makes caps lock sometimes.

Here is what happens when I repeatedly press those keys:
7 - 1121123123456112312345612341234512341234…
u - IOTUYeqrtwyIORTUYIORTUYeqrwIOUeqrwqwIOTU…
j - adfs∆˚¬adfgsadsadsadfgsadfsadfgs˙∆˚¬as

Please help!

Hey, was wondering if you ever got an answer to the MacBook typing random letters, as I have just started getting it and don't know what's wrong. I have wiped and reinstalled Lion, it's ok for a bit and then the problem comes back similar to your post, but it affects all my keys and pressing them will give me the same random character and repeatedly pressing may give the correct character. It comes and goes.

I have a 2010 MacBook Air which I bought at the beginning of this year so it's still in warranty. I really need it working too as I'm an indie iOS developer and can't work without it. If you could let me know what you had to do in the end to fix it I would be so grateful.
