Why does my MBP just shut down with no battery warning? (and other power issues)

I have been having problems with this thing for a while, and now its just getting REALLY annoying. I have a CD 2.16 with 2 gigs of RAM. When I close it, the fan keeps going, and drains my battery. sometimes during use, the battery meter will just say "calculating" for awhile and then it will just go to sleep with no warning. I've tried resetting the Power Management by taking out the battery and holding the power button, but nothing happens when I do it. any other suggestions?

Call Apple and they will help you.

try the smc, then apple. you can save yourself an uneccasary step.
