M mikegml macrumors member Original poster Jun 20, 2015 #1 Just noticed that the name of my Mini has got the number '2' in brackets after it's usual name? For example; what used to be 'Joe's mac mini' is now 'Joe's mac mini (2)' Where did that come from, why, and how do I get rid of it? Thanks.

Solved: It''s been automatically renamed because the OS thinks the original name was already in use. Open Sharing preferences and delete the unwanted addition.
