Why does Safari reloads page each time the back button is used?

On my Mac, Safari does not reload web page when I go back to the previous page which makes it A LOT faster and it remembers my location. But the mobile Safari reloads the page each time. Why? Can I change it? I have a JB iPhone 4 so if there's a JB app to change this it would be cool.
