Why does the MacApp store only accept credit cards? A lot of people (myself included) don't have credit cards... Apple should at least accept PayPal - Its a pretty standard internet payment method.

It accepts gift vouchers too.
Best way to buy I reckon, credited to your account, paid up front and if something goes wrong you'll only lose what your account is credited with.

Apple's too classy to associate with PayPal. And since PayPal is usually tied to a credit card...?

Probably because credit cards are the most commonly accepted form of eCurrency.

I imagine there's branding issues sticking a huge, ugly "PAYPAL" logo in the App Store.

Most likely because it's a pain in the ass trying to shove a 10 dollar bill into the computer.

LOL
I almost spit out what I was drinking

I'm pretty sure it also accepts debit cards if you have one of those. Otherwise using those iTunes cards from the store isn't that bad of an idea.

Yes I need to remember to get a debit card - I keep forgetting to get round to it

Is it a country-specific thing?

My AppStore purchases are billed to my iTunes Store Account, and I can change that to bill my PayPal.

iTunes gift cards are theonly method of payment I use. Easier to keep spending under control.

Well what the hell is that slot for in the side of my iMac then ? And how come iMacs don't come with cup holders like Mac Pros ?;)

Yep, the account you use to buy Mac apps with through the App Store is the same as your iTunes Store account, just to save confusion.

You can redeem your iTunes gift card via the iTunes Store, and then the credit you have will show up on the Mac App Store also :)

That's what I was trying to say, only I didn't say it very well, which caused confusion............it's not easy being a dog, sometimes my paws get all tangled and I can't bark right.
Or maybe it's that Jamaican lager beer.............
