I bought a wired MM in the marketplace a few weeks ago. It's been swell. I love the scroll wheel. I've had no clicking or tracking problems.

I also bought one of these Logitech MX thingys for my laptop. I like this, too.

Mice have come a LONG way during the past five years. So much better.

I had my MM replaced twice with new ones. The problem is with the scrollball. It gets dirty very easily and it eventually stops functioning. The the 3rd one I have now have the same problem but I am tired of going back, returning it, and waiting a couple of days for a replacment so I decided to live it :(

When it works I think it's fantastic.

I'd like to know if I can take it apart and clean it. Typical Apple though, they make a product that is great when it works but they do f*** all for the times when you need to maintain it.

iBlue try using a white sheet of paper on a hard flat surface then with MM upside down and using a fair amount of pressure roll it around in smallish circles, you'd be surprised how much crap comes out.Works for me,dismantling can be done but is a pain in the bum.

I LOVE THE MIGHTY MOUSE mine has been nothing but perfect for me the scroll ball went out once but i just shot some air in there while scrolling it and it works fine.

Mighty Mouse (a troll?)

Nah, it's just a strong opinion.... I tend to agree, in fact. When the Mighty Mouse was first announced, I was excited. I thought "Wow! Apple is *finally* making a mouse with support for a right-click and a scroll wheel! About time!!"

But in my opinion, they sacrificed a lot of potential improvement for the sake of keeping it in line with the styling of their previous mice.

The way they have to interpret if a user is right-clicking or not has some "logic" issues, depending on how someone uses the mouse. (Some folks are used to resting their fingers on the mouse buttons all the time and just pressing one down harder to click. This tends to confuse the Mighty Mouse, which expects your fingers to be off of the right-button area except when you mean to click it.)

The small scroll wheel is interesting, but doesn't beat the versatility of something like the Logitech Revolution, which automatically lets the wheel spin freely or "ratchet" with small clicks, depending on the application you're in when you use it.

And the wireless version of the Mighty is lame, because it doesn't include a charging dock and rechargeable batteries! That's the #1 reason I paid more for a Logitech cordless mouse. It's just ridiculous to have to keep replacing AA or AAA batteries in a mouse.

Starting a thread like that, I can only classify you as a flame baiter aka a troll.

People, don't feed the trolls.

I bet hes leaving both his fingers on the mouse when hes click. You can only have your finger on either the left or the right trigger.

A multi-button mouse is the one thing that I just cant give up in my switch to a Mac.

Me too. Bought an iBook and can't really use a mouse with it (on me bed, the bus, etc) and having to CTRL + Click is awful. Sorry, but that time... Thinking Different was wrong.

... From a personal switchers view anyway.
