looking to buy a used M1 ijmac 2021 but when I put in serial number on reincubate and other sites it says made in 2012! The official AppleCare website says apple care is valid and it is an M1 2021 iMac......I m confused . I d love to buy it but a little suspicious now.

Apple has transitioned to random Serial Numbers for their products for quite some time. As such, sites like Reincubate that used a method to parse serial numbers are invalid and can't be relied upon. That is why the website says 2012 because it can't parse the serial number correctly since it is randomly generated by Apple.

Thank you for your prompt response. yes been researching this, but new to all this. So is it like a duplicate serial number from 2012, like a fluke? Is this iMac safe to buy....like not fake or replaced parts? seems a decent deal 2 TB with 16gb ram m1 iMac....not too easy to find at $1k

What you need is the original receipt linking the sellers name and address to the exact serial number of this particular iMac. So that you know he’s the rightful owner. And then you need to make him sign a sales contract to your name. He will make the sale correctly, if he is no fraud.
