Other phones has had 8K recording for over 2 years now. While the iPhone 14 Pro has a super powerful processor. It shouldn’t have any issues recording 8K.
8K monitors and TVs are a thing, they exist. The point of recording in 8K isn't always about the resolution but to crop and zoom with 4K or 1080p in mind.Third party apps like Halide allow you to shoot 48mp jpeg photos, several other apps do as well. As for 8k, I don’t see a need. There aren’t any 8k TV’s or computer monitors that are 8k yet, so why bother. You have ProRes that will provide you with what you need, im guessing.
Oh ok… I don’t really shoot videos, mostly all still photos with ProRAW and Lightroom editing. I guess that’s why I didn’t think 8k monitors and tvs were out. Haven’t seen any at Best Buy, really haven’t looked. But the cropping of the video makes sense.8K monitors and TVs are a thing, they exist. I've had an 8K monitor since Dell released the UP3218K for example but I didn't get it for 8K video but more space/"real estate" for applications.
