In Safari when you hard press on a URL you get peek & pop. I get this for every website I go to (even Facebook) except news.google.com. Why doesn't 3D Touch work there? The only way I can get it to work is to request desktop site but that of course is not optimal on iPhone. What gives?

yeah, hard to know. It would seem like a no-brainer. Kind of how I felt about twitter until Tweetot updated the app for 3d touch support.

Twitter doesn't support it in app either. So annoying as it sounds like it's not something terribly difficult to implement.

So they can charge you for the feature later?

Actually in all seriousness Google likely wants to keep their apps more or less consistent with Android. Thus easing you into a switch.

I'm not talking about an app. I'm talking about news.google.com in Safari.

The Chrome iPhone app allows swiping though.

Interesting why some sites in Safari don't allow it.
On the other hand, I am finding that it is as fast or faster in most cases to just open the link. o_O

Some links are compatible. They may not be simple HTML links.

The new Nexus devices don't have 3D Touch so why would Google offer this swanky new feature. I dunno, maybe it will come because swiping came to Chrome...

I like the google apps but the lack of 3D Touch prevents me from enjoying the feature on a regular basis.

But this is Safari we are talking about. Unless there is something special about the links why wouldn't it work?

Unless ..... (conspiracy theory alert) Apple is deliberately not allowing it to work in an effort to drive you to Apple News

And 3D touch is been out for how long with phones that support it? Give vendors time to develop these features

Like what? Only complaint j have about it is that you can't copy the source link (it's an apple URL).

    That's one.
    Couple more (for me)....
    • If you drill down into topics, at times the links don't open
    • I used it for a couple of publications I have a subscription with and AN would be missing high topic headlines. (NYT WSJ)
    • Some of the recommendations would leave me scratching my head
    • I like pro/con views on topics - I don't get much of that
    • Global news. From other countries and their view on events.
ANews reminds me of a beta news aggregater with a bit of Apple Music style done basic.
ANews could be good but right now it's not good enough for me. WIP.
If it was a downloadable app. I would have deleted it after I tried it.

I guess. I hate the Apple Music app though. I don't see much of a comparison with the two...

Style. Simplistic one step selections or additions with recommendations.
ANews is better of the two.

Apple's main advantage has always been for me a nice UI. Its difficulty is making use of that UI.
