I like how health kit tracks everything but it seems whenever you restore and set up as a new phone all data is lost. I "think" i read a while back that the only way to transfer healthkit data to a new phone or restore and setup as new phone is to restore from a encrypted backup, is that correct?

It just seems like a waste that you log all this stuff for months and then its gone. Is there a way to keep the data in icloud in the way your notes and such are saved?

If the question is privacy i understand that, but at the same time does anyone care about anyone else vital statistics if they were ever leaked out?

I really do wish I had read your thread before I, too, fell victim to this :/

Ah well. I'll just act as though I am 365 days younger again :p

Nope. Apple really needs to put all your Health data in the cloud. I started over with a fresh install of iOS, per the Genius Bar's instructions to potentially fix my battery issue, but they didn't tell me I'd lose all my tracked workouts and fitness stuff. Oh well.

Yes it is the only way.

Edit: btw this also transfers all your passwords for mail, wifi etc making the new phone ready to go for the most part. Saves a ton of time.
