As we are paying for the service (those who have an account anyways) I don't see why we shouldn't get push email. Unless of course we do? Can anyone confirm this or not?
 
So if it would be great then getting mad that .mac doesn't do it serves no purpose, but wishing for it as a feature upgrade (free) would certainly add value to such service that some already question as being worth the cash.

Now I'm thirsty.

nope - but it's not surprising either. The .Mac SMTP and IMAP servers are slow as heck already - what would happen if thousands of iPhone users started to have their e-mails pushed to their handsets?

They should first of all concentrate on upgrading their server farms - e-mail and iDisk performance are a joke. The web services are even worse...
