Why doesnt more than half of my portrait photos get "in front" of the lockscreen clock?

Why doesnt more than half of my portrait photos get "in front" of the lockscreen clock? Most of them gets at best below the middle of the screen. I am not using the glass effect on lockscreen clock. Photos taken with iPhone 17 pro max.​

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Try the very left clock font (the only height adjustable font) and pull it down using the bottom right tab of the clock area.

yeah ive tried this but i dont like the new clock covering the entire screen. Looks really awful.
I want the same clock ive had in iOS18. I dont get why the pics gets messed up in iOS 26, when they were working fine in previous iOS.

Could try zooming the photo in a little so a smaller clock will work.
