We have a logo that lights up, keyboards that light up. But we have the MacBook Pro hidden in darkness beneath the screen. I think it would look amazing if we could get a light there. More branding as well...

I think that would be so distracting! The backlit keyboard is subtle and perfect, but a light up MacBook Pro label might be blinding!

i'm glad it doesn't like someone said, it's distracting.

i hardly have my keyboard lit either

i love my macbook pro, simply because it has just the one visible light, on the front, and the battery light underneath. its nice and sweet, to the point ;-)

Other then the previous mentioned comments, my guess is because the designers didn't want to. Honestly though, could be any of reasons i.e. designers choice, cost, no benefit for the added cost, distraction to the user.... and the list goes on. Just isn't meant to be.

I see where the TC's coming at... I think. The apple logo has a light which makes it sweeter for the eye, but it's on the opposite side of the computer. TC wants something sweet to look at on the inside.

I wouldn't mind, just as long as its not distractingly bright.

all it would be good for is a status symbol. What good would the lighted MBP do? Show off? I think the apple lit up does that well enough, imho.

i have a sony bravia kdlx3000 (xbr4 in america) tv that has an illuminated sony logo that floats on the glass ..it looks good for about ten minutes then gets super annoying!

we dont want it to be like a HP!!! theres a few of those DV5 piles of crap around, they are terrible to watch movies on because of the flashing lights and the illuminated bar with the volume and stuff on it

I counted almost 20 LEDs on an HP laptop. They are incredibly distracting at night, and I don't think it looks good at all.
