Macs are more expensive than iPad Pro or iPhone 7... where is the logic?

Apple wants to be seen as who? People are not stupid to not see what they are doing.

It's just not tasty apple. For premium price we want premium features... not just an apple logo.

Putting a 1080p webcam into your macs would still make you earn a lot.

I would never buy a BMW car with bad looking lights from 20th century... both 480p and 720p webcams do not belong to a premium device category.

On smaller Macbooks, like the retina Macbook, there may not be enough room in the display for a camera capable of 1080p that meets Apple's image quality requirements. For the other Macs, Apple may be following the logic that the end user won't be using their Mac to be taking selfies all day long as opposed to their mobile devices where they do.

Apple has money, money = possibilities. If they cared more about their image and macs they would give us ultra thin 1080p webcams for sure.

Apple should pursue perfection not only regarding iPhone but also regarding macs.

All what their macs mean is profit. Especially for the Pro mac family. Pro = profit.

But seriously... They should be ashamed of 480p webcam and even 720p webcam in their macs. They ARE APPLE. They should sell something what is complete.

Not something that has a low-end feature thanks to which they earn more money. Shame on you apple.

Yeah apple... hope you saved/earned enough on your crappy 480p cameras to make all your macs geared with 1080p cams.

Money isn't everything. You're failing to account for the possible logical outline I provided. Apple is a business after all, one of their end games, if not their top end game, is profit. If they can put in a lesser quality camera and save 20 cents per Mac, they'll do that because it quickly adds up once they've sold a few million Macs.

I find it hard to believe it has much to do with cost and more to do with technical reasons. If Apple fit one in and charge extra, they would.

Sure they could fit a 1080 camera that's ultra slim, but the quality might not be any better than current camera. Not all 480 or 1080 cameras are equal.
So just because you could, does not mean you should.
