I don't have a Mac Mini anymore because I felt limited by it. I love my Mac Studio, and there's no way I'll go back to the Mini after owning a Studio.

I had a pleasant surprise the other day after my 2019 Mac Pro went into a boot loop. I didn't realize the striped startup drives were Apple-proprietary, and I can't access the backup drives I had in the Mac Pro without going through the striped startup SSDs.

I made some calls and quickly found that anyone familiar with the 2019 Mac Pro's startup SSDs didn't have an answer except to go to Apple. I did that and found out it might take 3 months to get the parts and cost 2 or 3K for the repair. I called BS on that!

I run two companies with a desktop computer. Apple won't let me update the 2015 MacBook Pro because I don't have the original, proprietary "Mac Blessed" SSD installed, which again, is BS IMO.

I decided to get a Mac Mini M4 to get by for a while, and that little M4 with a "Pulwtop" dock and 2TB SSD is running circles around the Mac Pro desktop. Who would have known?
