Why don't the 2011 macbook pros come with restore discs?

How should you restore your hard drive if it crashes?

You restore it with the Lion Internet Recover system. No need for discs.

That's because it came with Snow Leopard, not Lion. Those that come with Lion don't have disks.

I must admit I thought they were missing when i got my MBP back in September, but then realised it includes a recovery partition.

    I'm not really bothered.

Ahh... thank you everyone. I can barely keep up with all of this ever-changing hullaballoo.

I trashed the recovery partition from Lion and upgraded to Snow Leopard 10.6.8

I dont care for lion's inability to come on disc.
