I purchased my early 2011 i7 17" in august and it came with recovery disk. Just saying.

That's because it came with Snow Leopard, not Lion. Those that come with Lion don't have disks.

I must admit I thought they were missing when i got my MBP back in September, but then realised it includes a recovery partition.

I'm not really bothered.

I trashed the recovery partition from Lion and upgraded to Snow Leopard 10.6.8

I dont care for lion's inability to come on disc.
