I don't mean in conversation, I mean why aren't there a string of YouTube videos comparing the battery life of a 6s with the smart battery case, to a 6s plus without one?

It's a comparison I'd like to see.

ill step in and answer this question being someone who had a 6s Plus since launch and just recently switched to a 6s with a smart battery case. I consider myself a heavy user and would average anywhere from 8-10 hours of usage on my 6 plus before it would need to be charged. With the smart battery case and the 6s I was getting 6 hours of usage with just the 6s on average which is great in comparison to the battery size of the 6s plus. When I added the case I was getting 5 hours of usage from the case power alone and then the 6 hours from my phones 100% charge. I could easily see myself going 2 full days without charging using the case with the 6s. Its been exceptional.

People can make fun at how ugly the case is but there's no arguing it's the thinnest and most convenient battery case. No buttons and I get to keep using my dock and lightning cables. The bump adds grip and the case material feels great.

Similar to @dannyar When I had the 6 plus I was getting around 9 hours of usage. Went to 6s and was getting around 6-7. I am a pretty intensive user as well. I posted this in another thread earlier, but it's applicable here too:

Some real world usage. I use my iPhone pretty intensively during the day. Location services always on (Waze, Apple Maps - commute over an hour each way everyday) Streaming XM, Apple Music, corp email on push, brightness at about 80%, phone calls constantly etc. Normally, with my 6s, I would barely make it to the end of the day after an overnight full charge . I also have an AW and rely on my iPhone to see my blood sugar readings that are pushed from my Continuous Glucose Sensor so battery life is very important.

Currently at 13hr 15min of usage and 36hr 57 min of standby. Battery is currently at 23%.

Thanks for the responses, some good insights here. My 6s has been unstoppable with this case on it. I'm getting 10 hours of use out of the case and another 10 hours from the phone. So happy I don't need to carry a big ass external charger anymore. Well worth the asking price. More importantly, I can still use the phone one handed. That was the eventual deal breaker for me when the 6 plus first came out.

Agreed. I haven't taken the smart case off of my 6s since I got it. Smaller iphone with exceptional battery life now. 2-3 days easily without a plug in.
But do not you find guys that case drains too much with phone at idle / in Stdby? In my case it may take up to 5% per 2 hours and i find this a little bit too much.

I definitely think the case battery takes a pretty hard hit in standby. Certainly the internal battery fares much better. But in the end, it's the total extra battery life that I can get that matters to me. My 6s with this case outlasts what my 6s+ could do, and that's pretty impressive.

Funny, as much as I love the case and have no functional or design complaints about the case, I was considering returning it this afternoon. The price is the only point of contention for me. If I absolutely needed this case every day, it'd be a no brainer to keep it. But in all honesty, the vast majority of days, I simply don't need this much battery life. I didn't need all the battery life in the Plus and I don't need all the battery life in this case. When the day comes when I DO need it, it'd be great to have around, but $100 for an accessory that I use 2 or 3 times a year seems excessive to me. I do have an Anker 5200mAh battery pack that I bought for $15 on Amazon that will charge my 6s twice, basically tripling my battery life. As much as it's nice to not have to deal with battery packs, it's still hard to justify the $100 for the case. I could do a lot with that money, especially around the holidays. Again, I still love the case, it's just for my needs, it's sort of a toy for me right now rather than something I need. I've been basically just not charging it because I know I can, and I like to see how far I can push it. I did the same sort of stuff with my Plus. If the day comes that I need a battery case, I wouldn't even bother with any of the others though I'd go right to the Apple Smart Battery Case.

I agree with you. I am also thinking of worthiness to have this kind of case namely in the fact that it is large and that a battery pack or charger would make the affair. I am lso very surprised by the large drain at idle or in stndby mode. Merry xmas to all of you.

Merry Christmas to you too.

I've decided to keep the case for now. I have until January 8 to decide. I really do love it. I used my regular Spigen case today, and enjoyed the slimness, but sort of missed the Smart Battery Case.

It'll probably serve me well on weekends when I'm busy with the kids and errands or even sitting around the house on slow days. On weekends I tend to run my battery down by dinner time. The Smart Battery Case will make sure that's no longer an issue.

I would have less time to decide but the decision is taken already. I will keep it too as i like the fact that it fits well to iphone and it can be easily removed when no extra juice is needed. I am only negatively surprised by the huge drain at idle / in standby that i would have expected less or at least comparable with the native battery one. Merry xmas !
