Apple is waiting for the East Coast buyers to give up and go to sleep avoiding a repeat of last time. They don't want to have to give away more cases LOL

It's like watching a toaster and waiting for the toast to pop out. It won't happen as long as you're watching.

iPad presales won't happen as long as you're refreshing the Store. So please stop doing that!

Apple pulled this same stunt with the iPhone pre-orders. They only said the day, but never gave a time. They're just covering their asses incase things don't go as planned.

The site was impossible to use around 11pm pacific time. They must have been slammed, but now everyone has given up and it loads fine. Glad I didn't get screwed on this like I did on the 6 Plus on opening night.

Go to bed. The preorders won't start in another 8-10 hours. How do I know this? Look at the Australian Apple Store. It says October 18th and Australia is ahead of both US and Europe time wise. In 8-10 hours it will still be October 17th here in Europe and it will be October 18th in Australia.

The ipad isnt much of an upgrade. You. Can keep your ipad 2 for another few years before needing to upgrade.

You are correct, it's not much of one at all, and certainly has no surprises. But I do like Touch ID for logging into apps and buying things, so that is the sole reason I'm buying it. After this, unless and until some real innovation occurs, I'm not buying another iPad.
