Why have the XR cases not been put out yet by Apple?

Maybe that's just for huge product releases. I'm guessing the store will go down tonight before the preorder though.
It's rather odd. I assume Apple will put up some cases when XR preorder opens?
I was hoping to see official Apple case options early so I can make more informed decision early on. If I don't like what I see tonight AND 3rd party case cannot be delivered by the launch date, I might order an overpriced Apple case from Apple and return it within 14 days window when 3rd party case arrives. Bad for Apple but I don't want to use the phone unprotected.

No, the _entire_ online store is subject to being closed for updates. Its not unusual and how its typically been for Product updates/preordering.
Yeah, I know that. But he said it would have to be taken down *twice* if it put the cases up early, meaning the store has to go down for cases to be put up in advance of the preorder.
That one clear Otterbox has a really unpleasant looking texture on the back. I’m sure it adds grip but it looks funky.

I hope so, first time in years I haven’t been able to order a case with an iPhone, hopefully they’ll release one this week but I am starting to doubt they’ll even release one now

I got a purple Caseology wavelength case that looks nice. For clear I went with Ringke Fusion. I had one on my Max that looked and functioned nicely.
Edit to add that sometimes to get the coupon codes to work for Ringke and Caseology you need to select their stores and not the Prime shipping option. Shipping will still be free.

Slick deals has saved me a fortune on cases. When my Note 7 got recalled I was stuck with several gorgeous cases but I paid grand total less than $12 for all of them so it wasn’t as painful a loss as it could have been.
Check there often because new coupons are always going up. Some expire faster than others. Try to stick to name brands like Spigen, Ringke and Caseology first.
VRS didn’t look too bad either. I got one of their clear cases. It’s textured. I won’t know until the phone gets here if it’s any good in terms of fit. Unfortunately their coupon codes are currently expired.
I also start to think there might be no cases at all. Which would make at least a little sense for the red, yellow, blue, and red as those are the colors people are supposed to show off. But what about the black and white??

The 0.3m (~12”) length is interesting. I guess currently it’ll be for connecting to a MacBook for charging which doesn’t need a long cable.
I have a handful of 0.3m lightning cables from Apple that are connected to an Anker charging unit that sits on a desk, usually use it to plug all sorts of devices when they need charging. 0.3m watch charger would be useful like this as well.
