Bank of America and Capital One just both confirmed to me via Twitter that both have app updates in progress.

BoA sounds like they are closer to being done in an all-iOS 7 feel.

Capital One says they are doing it but no ETA.

Capital One is done, been done. See post 23.

Agreed. The only apps which used to annoy me were those that still weren't optimised for the tallboy iPhone 5 screen, but to the best of my knowledge they all are now. Keyboards and poor graphics etc don't bother me at all, so long as the app is functional.

Got a 7.1 update for the Fast Balance app today. It adds iPhone 5 support too. Really happy :)

Put down the pipe...!

Capital One and Fidelity ARE updated.

Cant speak of the others... But considering ... How SURE are you really...? the others aren't updated... v.v suspicious

There is a deadline for updates to apps...
Not the actual apps themselves if they go untouched.

So you're saying the bank's never going to update their app?…

Wells Fargo just updated theirs not too long ago. Brought along some nice features as well.

So you're saying the bank's never going to update their app?…

No, I pointed out that the banks who the OP claimed werent updated, actually are.

And that the deadline isnt for what people think. Could be 3 or 4 months past that date that your bank gets around to updating.

They are lazy!

...and busy taking your money and finding new solutions to enslave you!

I use Simple who are supposed to be on the forefront of mobile banking and even they haven't updated yet. They claim it will be soon though but that was four months ago

Banks have to be very careful when updating software. Old versions of their software have to continue to work; you don't want a customer still using an iPhone 3G to not be able to use the software.

They move very slowly not just due to laziness, but because their apps require extensive testing (this is moving money we're talking about) and they don't want to alienate customers on older hardware. Notice that updates that don't obsolete older devices (like enhancing for the taller iPhone 5 screen) tend to come relatively quick.

There will be updates eventually, just give it time. As long as the apps work, that's all that matters when it comes to banking.

Having worked for years in the financial industry for banks and others..
They are cheap and lazy. They had plenty of time to update just like everyone else including months of iOS 7 beta's to work with. Many of them outsourcer their mobile app development which doesn't help. The security requirements and methods aren't anything other apps don't do that get updated more quickly and not all banks are taking forever to update.

BOA got updated last night. It looks pretty nice and has some added functionality. Fidelity app was updated several weeks ago.
