I don't think you are in the App Store. I don't remember seeing a "Cancel" button in that position in the App Store.

OP:
I think you may need to enter your Apple ID Account name in the "Account:" field, then it will probably want you to enter your Apple ID Password.

There is a difference between being logged in to the App Store Apple Account and authorizing payment for software.
This is a free app, so it shouldn't need to be authorized for payment.

OP, have you tried restarting your Mac? Btw, your email address is still visible in your screenshot. Be sure to use 100% opacity when masking things out. Safari's Live Text feature even picked it up.

The app is free to download. Yes, you need a subscription to use it, but that's irrelevant at this point.

Do you know why I can install Excel with homebrew and it is somehow registered then? I using it for maybe half a year now... Didn't try Word yet.

Edit: It's not the latest version I think.

Why do you want the App Store version? Do you have purchased a subscription or Word version in there?

I just installed it via Homebrew and got the latest version, but you have to login, otherwise it's read only. But the Excel I got was somehow registered.

I'm trying it again. It's on my other Mac.

Edit: Now I have all this bloatware again. :(

Edit2: And got the new Excel too, that also needs an account. Last year I got some free older version. I had some public license. Very strange.

Try the maintenance features of Onyx. It just clears some things a little up. Be careful with everything else in there.
