So ive had my 12 Pro Max since February. Battery Health has always been 100% until last week(September) where it dropped to 99%. Not a big deal. Then this week it became 98%. I am still using the phone like i always do. No new apps or whatsoever. So from this incident i conclude that Battery Health in Settings isnt accurate at all and shouldnt be a benchmark tool to check Battery Condition.

iPhone batteries often ship at a higher actual capacity than the specification. My new phone arrived with a capacity of 102%. iOS Battery Health only starts at 100%, so if your battery when new was actually 103% capacity, it’ll have to age 4% (decrease capacity 4%) until the iOS Battety Health app will show a change (to 99%).

If you want more detailed information on your iPhone battery status, get Coconut Battery for your Mac. It’ll show you exactly what’s going on.

As the previous reply mentioned. Batteries can vary and actually be over their stated capacity, which is why they can sit at 100% for longer. The phone only shows 100% even if it's above that capacity.

While I agree that many people obsess about that percentage, I'm not sure how you can come to the conclusion you did. Just because you're using the phone the same way doesn't mean the battery capacity won't diminish over time.

Was 100% from Feb to Sept. And suddenly in less than 2 weeks it dropped by 2%? So in a month its gonna drop approx by 4%? And 48% in a year?

But i dont have a mac… so it means in a month its gonna drop by 4%? Mine dropped by 2% in less than 2 weeks. And in the pic you included it went up and down…

Is there a way to make sure that its accurate? Ive read in other posts that coconut battery isnt 100% accurate either.

You can actually pull the same info from the logs on the phone if you have the setting set to share logs with Apple. So you don’t even need to use coconut battery to get some of that info.

It’s in the analytics logs.

The iOS Battery Health number is a rough estimate. It certainly isn’t accurate. Don’t pay attention to it until it drops below 85%.

True- coconut battery probably isn’t too accurate either. They both come up with their values based on estimations. It can never be perfectly accurate.

You're assuming a direct 1:1 correlation between time and battery capacity decreasing. I don't think that's how it works.
