Why in the world doesn't Apple allow iTunes Match users the ability to rescan?

by far the biggest problem with the service is that it doesn't do what it claims to do, match the songs. I have so many albums that are only half matched and the rest are uploaded, uploaded songs can't be streamed on Apple TV plus they're downloaded a lot slower.

So once a track has been incorrectly uploaded, you're screwed as there is NO way rescan it so it can be "matched"

Is the only option to not renew the service then hopefully I can have iTunes Match rescan my entire library again?

You get delete the individual tracks from itunes and check the "remove from iCloud" box, then take them out of your trash and put them back in itunes and scan again, it's not exactly graceful, but it works in my experience.

I've heard of this and I've tried this. It sometimes works and like you said, a pain in the ass to do

Apple needs to fix this issue, on the Apple community help site this is a very common issue people have till this day

Turn off iTunes Match and then turn it on again. It will go through and do the setup all over again but this time will be a lot faster.

I do still have the music on my computer, but I'm not following how turning on/off iTunes Match will rescan the music

it does rescan you library, for new and added tracks, but it doesn't have any effect on tracks that have already been uploaded/matched

    I wouldn't mind the delete / re-add / re-scan thing..

Except that you lose metadata. Times played, last played, appearances in playlists, etc..

THAT is why I wish there was a way to re-scan. Even moreso as of THIS MORNING as AC/DC's catalogue is now in iTunes. I want to rescan because of that today. Gah!
