I have a theory about iOS being white. Apple does not use an OLED display, so battery life does not improve if blacks are frequently used. The direct competitor of Apple - Samsung - uses Oled displays. Samsung wants to resemble Apple, to sell more. In fact, the new Galaxy S6 has a lot of white into the interface. This reduces battery life on Galaxy phones. :)

That has more to do with lollipop and as for Samsung wanting to resemble Apple, what about Apple copying HTC? Everyone copies stuff from others but is that a bad thing? Not if they copy the good bits. I had an S6 edge for 2 weeks and sent it back, battery life was terrible and along with apps crashing and the stutter I thought this thing is going to drive me mad so back it went. I got myself a 128gb iPhone 6 and love it.

I would really like a dark mode on iOS.

I think it looks really bad, but I can see the appeal behind it.

It would be nice if they added it in.

How do you mean it looks bad? You just don't like the darkness?

Yeah, the elements aren't designed for a dark design at all. The lines look awful, the colors bad, and its harder for me to read than it is currently.

For me, personally, I'd always keep it white. I do completely agree though, there needs to be some kind of "please don't destroy my eyes" mode for people who want it.

If the Apple Watch and Activity apps on the iPhone are any indication of what the rest of iOS could be in a dark theme, I am all for it. :)
