It still has no Broadwell architecture and no force touch track pad. Why? My wife needs a new laptop but I'm reluctant buying her such an obviously outdated computer.

The quad core Broadwell processors will be out later this year.

Have you not read the other 20 or so threads on this? Intel has not released the quad core chips yet. The current rMBP 15 is in no way outdated

Or we could start a rumor. This is MacRumors after all...

Apple doesn't like big laptops. They killed the 17", and are getting ready to kill the 15". That's why they didn't bother updating it. They only like little laptops. A friend of a friend of my cousin's aunt that washes the car of someone that delivers at an Apple plant told me.

The CPU is fine but the GPU is extremely outdated. Like there was never anything as outdated as that in their lineup. Only people going for the iGPU only version can grab one the dGPU version is a laughing matter for the price with that performance.

Although the CPU in the current rMBP 15 is the latest one, this can't be said for the GPU. The Geforce 750m was a middle of the road GPU about two years ago (and is currently two generations behind). So basically, the GPU in the rMBP 15 is an antique one with limited 3D or gaming capabilities. Apple should have reduced the retail price of their currentl line of rMBP instead of increasing it (in some countries at least). I would say if someone really needs to buy a 15 inches rMBP, they should go with the base modle (with Iris graphics). It's cheaper and GPU and barely slowler.

I think they're just waiting for the broadwell to come out. Then they'll introduce it with the new trackpad, maybe even thinner, touch screen, who knows. But not until broadwell.

I agree though that it is somewhat frustrating since the 13" is updated. Makes you feel like should I buy the 15? I would wait if you can.
