I got my iPhone4 from Canada 2 weeks ago, I'm from Portugal. You live where they come factory unlocked... that makes canadian iphones to be wanted all over the world, no wonder they are always sold out. I was lucky I guess.

I think that's crap. But if you were with bell (i don't know about other carriers) you can probably get a government discount because you serve our awesome country. I know that my grandpa gets a good amount of money off his blackberry contract because he is a fire chief.

here is Rogers version of that.

"Limited inventory of iPhone 4
Rogers is committed to getting an iPhone 4 into the hands of every customer who wants one. Many Rogers retail outlets are sold out of the device but we are receiving regular limited shipments of iPhone 4 from Apple. We recommend you contact your local Rogers retailer or Apple store to determine if stock is available."

as in we as customers are supposed to call every roger store in the city 3 times a week to find out that they didn't get any in.

I just thought this would be handled by now, it has been 4 months since launch. This is like first couple weeks type stuff.

umm... simple. There's not enough supply for demand.

Also, you have to look at it in every possible way... Apple isn't just sending the phones to Rogers. There's Bell, Fido, Telus and Virgin (IIRC).

I got mine in the first few weeks through Rogers retentions ONLY because they ****ed up my account and made me wait inline for 5 hours. They had no choice but to give it to me for $159 through the phone since their systems were glitching.

Go to the third-party stores (i.e., Wireless Wave, Telephone Booth, etc.). I've had way better luck buying from them than from Rogers both times I've bought an iPhone.

Don't bother calling stores. Lots of them tell anyone who calls they have no stock because it disappears to fast anyway. You just have to keep going in. Or, if you have a day off, go to a Rogers store first thing in the morning and hang around all day. If they happen to get a shipment in that day, you'll get your phone.
