I'm back using one of my thunderbolt ports as a dedicated charging port. I have 2 4K Thunderbolt displays attached. Sometimes they charge, sometimes they don't. Sometimes I think they're charging but they're not. Sometimes it just has the plug logo on the battery and it's neither charging nor draining. Of course, sometime it actually works and is staying charged or charging (I think! haha)

It is CONFUSING. I'm using a 2019 MacBook Pro 15" model.

What are your 4K thunderbolt display models? Some monitor can only be able to provide 15-18w power via USB-C. Unless it has a PD support.

I am assuming your 2019 is Intel base, will definitely consume more watts to keep two 4K running rather than charging it.

Thank you! I changed my USB-C cable and also plugged it into a different plug. So far so good!
