Why is Facebook moving messaging into a different app??

I couldn't be more annoyed with this. Things are way more efficient when consolidated, there is absolutely no good reason they are doing this.

I like it. Doesn't require that I have the stupid Facebook app installed if all I want to do is occasionally chat with FB buddies that I don't wish to have my cell phone number (to text with).

The FB message app is becoming popular and I assume that is why they are making it a separate app.
