why is i tunes taking so long to burn a cd

Its running 10.4.11 and itunes is up to date
I thought it was the disc, so I cancelled and tried another, its still very slow and I am only half way through burning a cd and its been 10 mins and it has 7 mins left. It seems it taking a minute a song to burn.
Its sony, and i have used these discs before and it has only take 5 mins max.
But the last few CDs have burned took 20 mins each
I cant be the disk since it was working fine before the last I tunes update. The funny thing is, I tried using Toast just to see how fast it would burn, and it burned in 3 mins. So it has to be itunes.
It still takes super long, and I just bought some new sony CDs, it must be sony. I wanted to get maxell but they did not have any
