why is this so complicaed and what is the point of the icloud sync of if doesn't

I have abou 180 contacts on my iphone 5....I have icloud set to sync contacts..so, on my ipad..I only have about 35 contacs (ipad is also set to sync with icloud

why aren't my ipad and iphone in sync?? isn't that the purpose of having my stuff in the icloud so I can access it from all devices??

Never experienced this problem. Have you tried deleting all contacts on one device, log out of iCloud and re-login?

Of course backup first in case it doesn't work.

1. Make sure that all of your iPhone contacts all appear under one and the same account (i.e. contacts on your iPhone which appear on other accounts, will not sync to iCloud). To check that open the Contacts app on your iPhone and tap "Groups".

2. On your iPad, make sure that the iCloud account contacts are visible. Just open the Contacts app on the iPad, and tap "Groups > Show All Contacts
