Sync or Swim!

I don't understand the need to synchronize iPhone apps with my MacBook, but there are plenty of things about technology that I don't understand and hope never to have to understand! As long as my apps don't get deleted for no reason, then I'm hardly bothered.

However, I am very aggravated that because of this first-time synchronization, some apps have mixed within my MacBook. For example, I added my Googlemail account to the Mail app; now, on my MacBook, any and all Notes I have written are in my Googlemail inbox as e-mails with the tag "Notes." Um...why is it doing this?

I have "Bump" on my iPhone. It's great. I'm looking forward to using it on my iMac too.

Hello guys,i have similiar problem...i have 2 itunes accounts, cuz czech itunes dont support itunes credit cards...
when i want sync, games from second account starts deleting...what should i do with it ?

Now that the app store has a record of all Apps purchased this thread makes even more sense

I'm tired go iTunes wanting to sync my apps

number one it can SOMETIMES (not all the time) take a little long

and number two when I try to keep page one CLEAR with no apps so my wallpaper can show iTunes snaps all the apps automatically BACK to page one so i can have it clear

pisses me off

While I agree that iTunes does suck, there is a solution to this particular problem. Go to Edit -> Preferences. In the Devices tab there is a checkbox that says "Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically". Check that and your iPhone is not going to sync when you plug it in and your apps will not disappear unless you click the Sync button. This solved my issue with the apps sync. This functionality is on iTunes 10.5 on Windows btw, but I assume it is also available on macs.

Opposite Problem

I have the opposite issue. I don't care if my apps are downloaded onto my computer. However, iTunes is trying to put the apps I've removed from my iPhone back onto my iPhone. Some of the apps are apps my son downloaded for his iPod and I don't want them. How can I keep iTunes from automatically putting apps back on my iPhone?

Got it to work..
