Why is LibreOffice from Mac App Store not keeping up with new releases?

Hi,

I have MS Office and LibreOffice on my Mac. I have supported LibreOffice with donations when downloading from their site, and when the Mac App Store version came out I bought that and moved to it.

The App Store version is 25.2.7, since that version they have released for direct download from their site 25.2.8.0, 25.2.8.1, 25.2.8.2, 25.8.0, 25.8.1.1, 25.8.2, 25.8.5, 26.2.0 & 26.2.1 I wonder why so little love for the Mac Store version?

I would assume because the MAS requires more hoops to jump through and the majority of people download directly from their site. Nearly every application on the MAS is less functional, or feature rich then the version being offered directly. The other reason why I go directly, is because I don't want to make apple richer as 30% of price goes to them, so dealing directly with the developer means 100% of my money/donation goes to them
