Honestly, I have never had a problem with safari. I like the look of it. It has always been fast and has never once crashed on me.

For me, Safari is an "adequate" browser. It is the fastest browser I have used out of IE, Firefox, Opera and Camino. It is the worst browser I have used for memory usage to this date, however, I understand the memory leak issue is caused by poor flash development for Mac which Apple can't be blamed for but Adobe. It has never crashed on my machine once but that doesn't mean to say it's perfect and bug free as everyone has different hardware and software configurations. Although I detest its ridiculous memory consumption I feel it is the best browser on the market at the moment. I hope this issue will be resolved in future and my opinion of it will change from adequate to outstanding.

I think safari is better than FF but one thing makes me extremely mad about it: Everything opens in a new window regardless of tab settings.

My god apple. Its just mind boggling that it has a tabs feature but theyre so extremely adamant about not using them. Its like the 2 button mouse. Does steve jobs hate tabs? Does apple think tabs are evil things that complicate people's lives? Do tabs scare the elderly and confuse the stupid?

When you click on a link that opens a new window why doesnt it open in a new tab instead like every other browser? WHY!?!?! Augh. You either have right click a link to open it in a new tab or middle click a link (only if you have your scroll wheel set to middle-click). Middle clicking isnt exactly a joy with my mouse wheel, and sometimes I dont want to open every link I come across in a new tab, it becomes a gamble where you have to guess if a link opens in a new window or the current window and whether or not you should middle click it or regular click it.

idiots... but thank god for safaristand which overrides that stupid setting

Safari crashes on me if I browse between 2 blogs I can make it crash every time... If I don't let a page load completely before clicking the next link I get the beach ball and it closes. I crashes on Yahoo and even here on macrumors. All that said, I don't know if it's really a Safari issue. It crashes with Firefox, Camino and Opera. I'm guessing its something on the computer. Were can I learn to interpret my crash logs? I'll post one here if anyone can decipher it.

Does any of his Help??

maybe something is wrong with your computer op
it did crash a lot before i erased and reinstalled.
now its fine.
i have done like at least 100 tabs before and it worked fine.
just wish they could be made a lot smaller as i span the page across two screens and i cannot still see them all

Well the problem has gotten so bad that mail and safari wont even stay on 30 seconds. Finder window goes nuts and the whole system was unstable. I managed to back up my data in between crashes and started a erase/re install of mac osx. It went through part of disk one and had an error, I re tried and it went fine. Disc 2 gets part way through the iwork 06 demo and then errors out. I have tried many times. I just shut it down and am letting it cool down (me too) I think someone has hacked into my os and screwed it all up. Im on an open network so who knows. any thoughts?

Yes Safari is crashing on me multiple times per day on all of my computers. My brand new MBP, MBA, and my old MB.. It crashes on every single one of them. I never have more than 2 tabs open and don't have any plugins.. I am switching back to Camino until they get it fixed.. It was very good until 2 months ago!!

Me too!!!!!

I am running Safari 1.3.2. Until very recently it has been, the best of the browsers I've tried. It is now locking up, freezing, crashing several times a day. I use other browsers as a work around, but I would rather stay with Safari. Time for some upgrades!!!

How do you get around the web without a flash plug in? My computer sucked rocks until today when I down graded my flash, it may be worth a shot for you???? I couldn't be happier with the results. Good luck, you sound worse off then me, I just had browser issues.

1. you should probably go to the genius bar

2. do a custom install and do not check iwork trial and office trial.

and when registering do :apple: + tab + q or :apple: q i kinda forgot its one of those three combinations you will now you got it right as something will pop up
