Why is the iPhone 4 headphone port so tight?

I have been noticing that plugging in headphones and pulling them out require a great amount of force compared to other headphone ports like my Macbook Pro and Blackberry Bold 9000.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Mine seems fine, doesn't require much force at all to pull the headphone jack out

I noticed this as well. The data cable port is even more tight. The connections feel very strong and secure.

I've noticed it too, especially on the data port. I think it is a good thing though. Makes my old 3g seem flimsy/cheap.

I noticed that it was a slightly snug fit. I just figured it was because of the fact that it was new
