okay so the new nano has gotten pictures upon pictures upon pictures; cases upon cases upon cases.. why isn't the touch!!

a scary thought comes across my mind that there isnt gonna be one...but then i realize that there WILL be one!!

why is isnt it getting any attention? Also when it comes out on the 9th besides volume buttons what else do you expect? also prices:) THANKS!!!

me-
volume buttons
gps
hopefully speakers

8gb 199
16gb249
32gb 350

Maybe information about that is tight to come by. I personally don't see GPS making it into the touch, there's simply no point for a dedicated music device and worse it will cannibalize iPhone sales which is the opposite of what steve wants to achieve. Then again i may be wrong since the iPod touch has grown to become an internet device

Volume controls seems likely to happen...not sure about speakers though

I think GPS is the most likely "special feature" to make it for the Touch. Volume buttons are "almost surety", GPS seems a "fairly likely", speakers are a "slight possibility", and a camera is a "no way" (nor do I really want a camera).

Edit: And as for cannibalization of iPhone sales, read my sig.

Not much attention, because due to the screen staying the same there has been little evidence out there to go on for rumors. I've only seen one photo of a possible new case for the new Touch. It's only difference over existing cases was an antenna cutout on the front upper right.

In contrast, it appears the Nano is a brand new form factor. New form meant new cases. New cases meant more possible leaks (from case manufacturers).

The only good reason for an upward facing antenna hole would be to maintain good GPS signals. There is already GPS in the iPhone, and many apps that would benefit from better location technology than the current Touch has.

kingballin20, do you want us to just make up these stories out of thin air? There are not a ton of stories about the iPod touch because there hasn't been any leaked information about it. And the iPod nano rumors may simply be that, rumors, everything that you see may simply be speculation. If there were any stories about it, then they would be posted here.

And I highly doubt that there will be GPS on the device, and they won't sell it for anything less than $299, I see the 16GB being $299 and the 32GB being $399, with there being a discontinuation of the 8GB model.

It will have its time on the 9th.

Don't worry.

Personally I could care less about the iPod nano updates...I have $400 in the bank just waiting for a new Touch. :D

right, the touch looks like a revision, whereas the nano looks totally different

there have been blueprints leaked, and there is definitely an external volume control at the side, and a tapered style like the iPod 3G, the new iPod touch will be a must cop for me. I will actually pre order it on the first day if it is 200 dollars or 250. I'll get a refurbished 1st gen if it is more than that.
