IMO, Verizon is definitely better than AT&T
But honestly, you really cant take that study seriously when US Cellular is ranked #1 in cell phone carriers, and for sure AT&T is better than Sprint and T-mobile
You can take it seriously when you understand how they differentiate themselves from the others.
US Cellular offers:
-Free battery replacements for any phone they carry
-Free phone replacements (no insurance required) if defective
-1 year contracts on all phones; no strings attached
-5% discount if you go paperless billing
-Lots of loyalty programs
Seriously, if you can live with their regional coverage (and there's 6.2 million subscribers who can) they are pretty much the Southwest Airlines of the mobile carrier industry. Not the most glamorous thing in the world, but they have rabid fans and have eliminated a lot of the BS you'll get with the other guys.
I've seen these videos posted earlier, but I've got a question that perhaps someone can answer?
I've got both Verizon and AT&T accounts. While I don't have an iPhone for Verizon yet (obviously), I experience far more consistent speeds using EVDO than I do via AT&T. Assuming I get a good signal (which isn't all the time) on AT&T, I can almost always get a speed test almost 50% faster than via Verizon. But if I lose so much as a single bar on AT&T, I'm lucky to get a third the speed of my Verizon gear.
The real difference between the two, however, is latency. Verizon latency is pretty peppy. AT&T, by comparison, is horrid....often takes 400ms or longer to start downloading anything. That makes the overall speed perceptively slower on AT&T than via Verizon.
Is this the norm for AT&T? Like something to do with how they enable their wireless broadband?
I've also read that those video's aren't reflective of reality due to the presence of Femtocell's at the conference. True or False?
