Why is the ZUGU Case iPad Pro M4 case not released until July ?

You would think they would of had it ready when the iPad Pro M4 was released or a few days or weeks after.

Could be any number of valid reasons - not getting a good mockup or specs from Apple, supply chain problems. The folio case ESR put out didn't turn the screen off so I wonder how much info they got from Apple. Zugu is an excellent company.

What is a good temporary case while waiting or maybe even a permanent different one that is almost as good ?

The ESR case actually works with a workaround - put a Post-It Note on the lower right corner on inside back of the case (I have one). It's inexpensive so it makes a good temp. I sprang for a folio from TORRO for my 13" Pro - I have their cases for a Mini 6 and a 12.9 Pro. It is pricey, though, like the Apple folio. I use it when the iPad is off the MKB.

At least USA able get their Zugu in July. I have to wait even longer! I am from UK and preorder isn't available and Zugu said will release USA first then sometime after Europe etc. At moment I am using ESR cheap case, same one above saying sleep/wake not working unless post it note stuck on back. I just put my iPad to sleep before I close cover. I am waiting for Zugu case, my first one and it seems very highly rated and I like that got multiple levels of stand cos most case is only 2 or maybe 3 and it never level I needed for some situations.

Yeah. It be worth it in end though. 🤣 I have used many iPad cases over years and most of them is okay and far too many don't have multiple level stands I wanted so I got separate iPad stand to get angle I wanted and Zugu is first case I seen covers all levels I needed and hopefully when eventually I get it then finally can leave iPad stand in drawer (keep it as backup).
