That black 5c actually looks good though. I get what the thought was though.

I mean think about if you heard it in passing conversation.

"I got the 5c."
"Cool which color"
"Black"
" :/ "

To me, that still sounds better than:

"I got the 5c."
"Cool which color"
"Pink"
" o_O "

Kinda sexist if you think about it if they aimed the 5C for women, by bringing out bright colours and pink yet no black, grey or even dark blue for the blokes.

If they keep the 5C or change the 5S into the 5CS then black should be an option, because black is still a colour.

I own a 5c and I've seen plenty of guys owning one. I can't see who you can equate colors to a given sex. That seems rather silly to me.

Just like the threads that ask if the gold/silver finish on the 5S is too girly for a guy.

I'm expecting some threads asking the same thing this year too.

It's a color, colors don't have assigned genders. so yeah, it's incrediblity silly to do that.

Isn't black the absence of color?

I feel like all the colors are in some way unisex. I wouldn't judge a fella if he had a pink iPhone 5C because it's his phone, he bought it, and his color choice is none of my business.

It'd be nice if they had darker colors as options as well (black would be great, but brown can be nice too as an option, even a darker blue or green or red). The choices they seem to have are of the lighter/brighter variety.

It maybe because I'm old fashioned, tbh i wouldn't be seen dead with the current crop of 5c's & defiantly not pink as i would get destroyed by my workmates & pals.

To the younger generation of today this probably doesn't matter as much, there are a few lads in their early 20's i work with that have the white, blue & green 5c's and love them.

Sounds like you are a follower and not a leader. I rock pink polos at work all the time. Women love it. I'm secure with myself and like the style. I could careless what some else thinks. I do what makes me happy, not them. A pink iPhone 5c wouldn't be my first choice but if someone gave me one for free, I'd use it proudly without hesitation.

There are certain culture and social barriers between generations that are more due to upbringing and environment rather then being a leader or follower.

Your shirt for example, I know obvious leaders from when I was in then military that would wear no shirt before a salmon/pink polo. That is based on pride and other variables. You said women love it, me for example I wouldn't wear a pink shirt, but if it was going to get me laid? Yeah, I'd swallow my pride pretty quick.

Everyone has their own favorite color. It's just like at the car dealership. Why get a pink car when you could get something more formal?

The 5c is not a formal phone. The colors are meant to be extreme and eye catching. It's not for everybody.

I hear you. I just think that people should do what they feel makes them happy and not worry about what others would think or say. It's like letting fear control you. Heck, I had the same thought process when I was in the military.

I like pastel colors. Clothing wise, you can look really dapper if you are open minded and willing to expand your choices. Black dockers and a nice pastel orange, green, blue, yellow, pink polo would look nice on any man IMHO.

Pastel colors on phones are ok. I just would get tired of having the one color real quick and prefer something more neutral like the 5 and 5s versions.

Lol, I'm going to be 50 in a couple of months. I wouldn't say fall into the 20 something crowd.

I'm as old fashioned as they come, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to judge a person by the color of his (or her) phone.

You make me feel so young. :D

But it does happen alot, would you send your Son to school with a pink 5C? i know i wouldn't because i know what the outcome would be.

My pals are all in their 30's and early 40's and none of them would have a 5C basically because of the colours, even a couple of them won't touch an iphone at all as they think they to girly.

It would have been nice of Apple added a White front as well. Maybe both options will occur in the next C model.

yeah it's already embarrassing enough walking around with a white iPhone and being a guy. I don't care what you guys say about it but around here (very southern IL) its pretty much a bunch of rednecks, hicks, and country folks. So it's pretty primitive around here and old fashioned as well. It's embarrassing to have white, or feminine colored devices.

Yes i realize that purple can be a guy's favorite color. but it's not really the norm, and it's certainly not considered as masculine as say blue, or black by most people.

Its perhaps embarrassing to other people (or at least should be) who have such shallow/unevolved/etc. views of society that colors, let alone phone colors, bring some sort of significant indications of one thing or another to them.
