Why is verizon blocking iOS 8 downloads in both iTunes and directly?

Verizon fios, just WTF are you doing? Since the release date, I have not been able to download iOS 8. At work, it was downloaded in minutes. I can download it across the VPN at 3MB/s. But directly downloading from Apple? 5-6 days? WTF Verizon?!

If there is a problem, it should not be happening that long. Have you tried contacting Verizon about the problem?

Interesting. I ran into this yesterday while trying to upgrade my iPad Air. my iPad mini had similar issues until I tried late ant night. It may well be something VZ is doing...
