Will Apple be releasing a lighter iPad Air 3 this year?

Probably not because there isn't much (if anything) to upgrade the Air and keep it differentiated from the Pro. Air 2 will probably remain as the entry-level 10" iPad.

I'm guessing it's not lighter because they both use similar components in terms of weight.
