Why isn't the Time Capsule, AppleTV, and airport express one device?

They want to dominate the family room, and they could with that one simple device. The wireless hub for your computer and your family room (tv, sterio, etc.) I hope this happens one day.

It is a good idea, but it would have a much smaller market than each has on its own. Also, many people don't want a networked TimeMachine Drive, or can't support N, or aren't using Leopard.

No, why the Mac mini and AppleTV are not one device.

Maybe because it doesn't make much sense for a device intended for your TV to also need to be near your internet source (to act as a router)...

    Maybe...

Apple TV and the APx are one device. Airtunes was added in take2.
