Just because you would not use a feature, it shouldn't exist?

I see no point in having a person's picture pop up when they call me, so I don't use the feature. How is this different?
Apple tends to focus on the core/most important features, and leaves the fring stuff like this to app makers. I doubt many people even use the iTunes visualizer, nevermind wanting it on their phone.

The only way I could see them implementing this is if it was a "default" option when put into a dock.

Having it when not charging/undocked would just eat up battery due to the screen always being on, and resources being used. For most people that'd be counter to the purpose of the phone. Plus what if you forget to turn that feature on, put on your music, and put your phone down and it just rips away at the life.

I could, though, see them implement this in a way that if you plug it into a dock and the dock is detected it enables the feature if the music player is on, or at least gives you the option "Would you like to enable Visualizer Playback?" type thing in the music player.

It would probably end up not charging and then overheat!

And what's the purpose of visualization anyway? iTunes have it and I hardly use it. Do you like to watch it while listening to music? That's sad.

If I play music on my iPhone, whether I plug it in onto my stereo hifi amp (when home) or my IEM (when outside) and I don't watch iPhone screen when play music.

So why would iPhone need visualization? Enlighten me

Not only is not a matter of my preference vs your preference, but your preference is so "right" that it make my preference "sad"

Strong logic. You got me good bro.

Hmmm I dunno why do they sell music videos in iTunes? Why is there YouTube?

So streaming broadband video over Netflix or Vevo doesn't use to much battery to be warranted, (video backlight energy + 3G/Wifi full on stream processing) but a music player with a visualizer and no internet involvement would not work right?

Because "people won't know" it uses battery... ??

So they know YouTube uses battery but there is no way for them to know visualizer uses battery.

What do you do when you listen to music? Just browse the web in the background?

What if you want to just chill and vibe out to your iPod music? It would be nice to pull out a nice rich visualizer and just enjoy the vibe in a dark room.

Or lets say you go to a friends house and they have a projector or big TV; you can just plug it into any HDMI port anywhere and create an instant rave party in someones living room just from your phone.

But mostly just for personal use. I love music. And at home on my projector my MBP is always hooked up to it and when I play music I have the visualizer on one of my walls at all times just vibing out. Its very nice ambiance.

Just because you guys don't use it or love music so passionately to want to be absorbed and immersed in it doesn't mean others don't.

You gotta remember these devices are for people who are passionate about art...

There are several visualizer apps. "Music Visualizer - Rabbit Hole" seems to have good ratings & some of them mention the 4S specifically. "Visualizer" by Lok Tai looks like a dud, apparently never updated to support multitasking so won't run at the same time as the music plays :p

There are none, I looked, they are so lame its like they don't exist.

Im talking a good Apple one with a button for it right there in music player.

Repeat OP.

We don't watch the iPhone screen when we play music.
We don't watch the iPhone screen when we play music.
We don't watch the iPhone screen when we play music.
We don't watch the iPhone screen when we play music.

...well I look at the cover sometimes, a bit more often at the playlist to see what is next but that's it and they are just glances.

BTW I hardly use the itunes visualizer either.

I use the iTunes visualizer every day (but thats just because i have a 1080P HD Blu Ray quality hyper-detail 130 inch projector)

Maybe if they made it and it worked really cool you might use it on your phone when your bored in the dark lol.

Most people have a dock in their car it might be fancy to have an eq visual instead of the standard screen.

I also think since most times when you are bored, all you have is your phone so the people who wouldn't otherwise use it at home on their main central hub iTunes setup, they might find convenience and pleasure when they are stuck in a situation where all they have is their music and some time to kill...

Portability might increase its appeal. There are many nice details like that in iPhone ownership. This could be a good idea.

You, having time to kill?! Mister being all busy all the time, i wouldn't think so.

You, having time to waste the battery on the phone when it's such an important thing for you? Naah. Don't believe it.

A music video and a visualiser is two different things. COMPLETELY different. If you even compare them you are clearly not above the average when it comes to figuring things out. This might be obvious for the most people on here, but i really do feel to tell you this because it seems that you cannot figure things out properly.

If you where asking this question without having read your previous threads, i would understand why you would ask for it, but seeing as you have other issues to figure out that relates to battery life i cannot understand for the life of me why you are asking for such a feature.

So getting high listening to music with visualizations on your wall is a reason that a smartphone Needs to have visualizations ?

look op maybe you and a few handful of people think it's cool, but apple has bigger things to worry about. Not a single mobile apple product has ever had visualizations why do you think apple gives a crap about this sort of feature.

Visualizations are neat but not at the cost of battery life
