I have to agree… for me it’s not a worthy upgrade.
My son received a AWS7 and I placed it and my AWS4(Hermès edition) on my wrist and case/screen size was negligible… along with the current features that would “interest” me to update (ie O2 sensor, AOD). I think I can hold off till AWS8 , perhaps another Hermès.

im a large guy (6’3”, 245), so 44/45 mm look fine on my wrist.

Once again…that’s just my take.

The table shows nothing but one person's opinion, without being backed up by any objective facts. There is actually no such thing as a "compelling" upgrade or an upgrade that's "worth it." It's all down to personal preference. You have yours, however you choose to express it. A lot of people disagree.

Bigger screen, faster pairing, faster charging, thinner bezels, faster app loading, brighter AOD and a keyboard……. It’s a good upgrade. Especially for anyone coming from a series 1,2,3 or 4. There are also many series 5 and series 6 upgraders posting how totally wowed they are by the new larger screen

I see many posters commend both the bigger screen and the thinner bezels. But really, that is one benefit, not two.

I don’t know a single person personally that upgrades their Apple Watch annually or even every 2 years. It’s like the iPad, people upgrade when they need to generally I have found. I had my series 2 for 3 years and am now on a series 5 which I’ve had for 2 years. I may upgrade next year if the battery continues to be pants.

I picked up an AW1 on launch day. I bought an aluminum model because I was certainly not sure that I would like it. I thought it was 50/50 if i would just be a throw-away impulse buy. I was surprised how much we (my wife and I) both liked it.

I bought an AW2 SS model, thinking it would be a lot nicer than the aluminum. It ends up, I actually liked the aluminum better.

My next purchase was a AW4 because I liked the health features. I switched back to aluminum.

I would NOT have bought a new AW7, except that I’ve started wearing my watch to bed to monitor sleep. I like being able to have one watch for the day, and a different one for nighttime. It makes charging them both simple. Whichever I am not wearing is on the charger.

Interestingly, GPS accuracy has improved slightly and HR sensor accuracy has gotten worse in the S7:

How subjective…

I upgraded from S6 to the S7 due to the screen. The weight difference is negligible. Therefore, this is why it’s worth the upgrade…to me. No tables necessary.

What S7 screen can do that S6 screen can not? Enlighten us pls...

Without even thinking about the answer, one difference is the QWERTY keyboard. I would have been tempted to make fun of a QWERTY keyboard on a watch, but I actually used it this morning and was amazed how well it works. There are probably other differences in the can/can't category.

I must admit it makes me chuckle to see people justify why or why not they upgraded.

It is really a personal choice, down to wants, needs and circumstances. I don't look up to or down to anyone who upgrades yearly, every 2 years or every 10 years. I upgrade when all the stars align and I decide. Not for everyone, but when it suits my circumstances and wants and needs.

Yep, though I suppose some folks crave affirmation of their own choice, and thus seek out others who've made the same decision.

Me, all I've got to say is that this thread has encouraged me to brush up on my Excel skills.
